Letter from Mid-West Tennessee Executive Director, Debra Roberson - April 2015

April is Volunteer Month.  At the Red Cross, we are grateful for all of our volunteers and your dedication to our mission.  Your countless hours of volunteer service do not go unnoticed.  The Mid-West Tennessee Chapter is honoring our volunteers at our annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 12:00 at Brooksie’s Barn in Jackson.  This event will serve as our monthly meeting. Please RSVP if you are planning to attend.

Our annual fundraising event, the Heroes Luncheon, will take place on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the Civic Center.  Sue Vegors will be honored as the Volunteer of the Year and Dave Brumley will receive the Distinguished Service Award.  We are excited to recognize these two very deserving individuals.  If you would like to attend, please RSVP by calling 731-427-5543 or email debra.roberson@redcross.org.

As we enter severe weather/storm watch season, remember to download the Red Cross weather apps on your phone.  These apps provide information that can be life changing for all.  The apps are free and available for download in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store by searching for American Red Cross or by going to redcross.org/mobileapps.  Encourage everyone to have an emergency preparedness kit, know the location of local shelters, and be prepared to evacuate if necessary.

Debra Roberson
Executive DIrector
